Who is Aaron?

Oh so it's a common occurence that some host emails you and says you need to transfer your hosting to them? Is that what serverpoint does? Are you Aaron?
 
No ma'am. We do not email customers hosted with other companies. And I'm not Aaron.
Just wanted to give you friendly suggestion and did not want you to get offended.
There are lots of one or two day companies doing such tricks.
I just wanted you do not take them seriously and I do not expect such reaction of you on my post.
Sorry, but we do not do such things as you mentored.
Just do not understand you here ma'am. :(
 
I agree with Jan.
If some stranger emailed me and told me that I was to move my hosting over to them I would be asking questions too.
 
I also would. It doesn't look like the typical spam so I would definitely look further.
 
Imagine those who aren't quite so cluey, they could switch their hosting just like that :S
 
If there is an Aaron guy. Could be that infinitie.net are desperate for clients? But where did they get my email address? I certainly never hosted with them.

I don't have a clue who this 'Aaron' guy is I'm afraid, I don't really get to hear much about business deals such as buying other companies etc
 
If that was a genuine takeover, shouldn't it go something like....

Hello Jan,

I am writing to you today from Infinitie Networks, recently we acquired part of the assets from www.******.com hosting company, as such effective immediately we will be continuing on providing you with your web hosting. Your plan and pricing will remain the same.

However, we will need to transfer your site over to our network within the next 7 days, if you could please respond to this email it would be much appreciated. You may also contact www.******.com directly to confirm this, if you so wish.

It should and I agree with the fact that more information to you would be more helpful in the situation. I have tried to get some more information, but all I keep getting told is to kindly ask you to contact John with any of your concerns.
 
Why doesn't John come and post here for other potentially affected clients can be notified of what is going on?

I also agree with your opinions Dan and Jan. Because it is not at all a good practice to send such mails. I seconds Aaron search and hope that the truth will be revealed soon.

It would be really helpful to Jan if you were able to obtain the name of the web host that was taken over. I'm sure she already knows her PO Box address. :)
