I am so glad I came across these forums while VH's are unavailable.
I'm on the V5 plan and have heard nothing in the way of mailings out that my friend (who's on a lower plan) has - he has been forwarding them to me.
The most recent one on Saturday:
If you own a namebased site with us, meaning your hosting package ranges from valuable-1 to valuable-4 your site is on the new server. For IP-Based accounts, please allow another 24-48 hours for your sites to be moved. Please respond to this e-mail if you own a name-based site with your domain
name.
So I'm IP (V5) account - Now the CGI has been down on my site/forum since yesterday and intermittently comes and goes (seems to go more often). I don't want to sound like a broken record but another email from one of my members and I'll scream!!
Can anyone confirm this is also affecting them? I've taken to putting up a custom error 500 message to try and make people aware but their patience is wearing a bit thin (I think they think I turn on these errors just to annoy them).
I had an absolute rotten time with my previous host and was hoping for a bit of plain sailing! So basically, is the CGI purposely down? (HTML pages are fine) and are arrangements being made to move V5 hosted sites over to the new server.
Also, (one last thing!), what is the deal with the default Plesk page on many transferred sites? Surely the sites have been copied over file-by-file and have been set up to run as soon as DNS nameserver settings have been updated?
Is it recommended to change the first nameserver to ns.valuablehost.net and the 2nd to ns.valuablehost.com in order to provide as smooth a transition as possible?
Any help/comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Asa
