Fail much? ;)

I got interested in web hosting, more into programming, during this time joined college straight after school not knowing what it was I wanted to do anymore, as my dreams were shattered. After 1 year figured out what it was I wanted, still trying to achieve that. Jumped from small jobs here and there, small colleges that lead me to nothing, ending up getting myself into £2000+ worth of debt to reach my dream job [qualification purposes], only for it to be snagged in some manner as each day goes back. Soon it might be rendered useless. Witness many fights and shootings, witness drug dealers attacking members of my family, bombings of my neighbours homes, hearing, but quite near to 3 kneecappings (For those who don't understand the term, getting your knees blown off with a gun) with a sawn off shotgun at my local shops, possibility of me being one of them if I got closer to witness the shooter, 100%. Having to pick up the pieces of friends damaging themselves to drug abuse. Dated a few guys, experimented a bit, nothing came of it. Grew closer to some members of my family, while not wanting to even be blood related to the others. Finding out my mother has cancer (only last week), getting a job after being unemployed for over a year, and having to give it all up to care for her [though taking time off as their request, instead of quitting instantly], finding out more people actually care for me than I thought. Finding out secrets I thought my friends never had, while finally telling the one that haunted me for years, even to this day [only telling the one person to date]. A childhood friend becoming pregnant, and her wanting me to be a part of the babies life, due to give birth within 48 hours. I actually can't wait. e/ Oh and I also joined the Organ Donation register, and soon to donate blood and eventually bone marrow. :)

There's a bit I'm missing out, but that's most of it.

Dated a girl.
Came up with a new kind of engine that if it runs (Prototype's not done yet) would have tremendous potential.
Changed datacenters.
Bought a pair of Sun Microsystems Sunfire V100s with SPARC CPUs out of a used equipment sale. One was burned out, the other is running Debian-Lenny sparc version and might be colocated at some point.
Got DDoS'd (Twice. They were aiming for someone else and hit me on accident. Idiots.)
Started writing a Paypal billing system after being frustrated with the lack of GPL billing systems
Melted some steel in my backyard on accident.
Melted some aluminum in my backyard and made a car part out of it.
Almost flunked out of college but managed to save myself for the 6th time.
Entered a server endurance competition and so far is doing very well.
Made a ceramic teapot with 418 glazed in the side- the HTCPCP response for "I'm a Teapot"
Passed out after half a glass of wine at Easter.
Almost got hit by lightning while at a picnic with the lady.
Got spammed.
Found a spammer's lair but couldn't find a way to get him off the internet.
Got DoS'd by a pissed off friend.
Repaired my 5 year old P4Ht 3.4GHz again, it fills up with dust and just plain dies every few months.

I've been here for over 10 years. Think about what could happen in a life between the ages of 15 and 26. There's no way I can remember half of it, let alone fit it all in a post.

Since i Joined FWS (age 15-20) I learned a lot about computers, hosting, and programming I enjoyed making the move from 28.8k dialup to broadband. I discovered napster usenet music and porn i was fascinated with encryption. I had a few dedicated servers learned how to admin them, kinda. (thanks to WHT tech forums when i needed help). Finally I got a job in retail sales and learned how to successfully interface with other human beings.

(age 20-26) i've learned (looking back) to treat liquor money and women with a little more respect.

In all, Mostly good times, lots of regrets (not yet travelling like BV) and a few less brain cells. Looking back at many of my posts here and at other forums I was actually pretty smart. I'm trying to get back into that.

school again in 2011.

Great thread.
