Any better?

Look at any big corporation's logo. Logos aren't meant to be cluttered up.

Last time I checked, black and white matched also (they're neutral colors).

Neither of you two Alex's have addressed this issue as yet
Banner ads, logos, and photos are the key to making an excelent website. Banner ads catch the attention of visitors, and are great advertising tools.
:confused2

Both of us aggree that images are the key to making an excelent site. That's why we have it on our site, but what does it have to do with this forum!? Last time I checked, this was a 'Review my Site' forum. It's your opinion if you don't want logos or banner ads. I never said that logos should be intricate and cluttered up.

Maybe, I was talking about a member.

Oh, I changed the logo and colors. I hope you like them better because I'm not changing them again.
If people didn't like mine then I would change it as many times as it takes.

Yes it is a review forum, but if you can't take criticism, why submit? There are 4 threads here I think for the same site :confused2

If you are looking at designing pages sometime in the future, people don't want to consider banner ads just yet unless you plan on including your banner advertising as part of the deal, if and when you design a site for them?

I would certainly baulk at that part of your web design if I happened upon your design site.

Me thinks they are trying to make extra money out of the customers by putting ads on their sites and charging money too. :confused:

No.

Your other site, http://herpsdirect.com , that you try to pass off as an example of a "catchy" design for one of your clients that "have had sales sky-rocket" since you blessed them with your skills sux0r too.

Guess what I think? I think your hosting will stink as well.

I think I have found the problem. Our free service will have ads where the pay services will be ad free. Hope that fixes that problem:)

LOL. You expect banners to cover the costs?

ROTFLMAO. $50 a page. I would charge about 50 pounds for a site but it would be much bigger than 5 pages. But wait. Thats still less than $350. :biggrin2:

I just went to http://catch22design.com

- on the first page you wrote you made over 10 professional websites: I couldn't find any link to at least one of them, why? what about making a portfolio?
- your design doesn't look that professional to me: some images don't fit into it (like on main page, hosting page, ...)
- on the web design: you wrote down potential clients have to contact you (contact link found on the bottom, but what about making a link somewhere in your text?)
- what about putting some prices to have a first idea?
- too many pages are still under construction, please try to complete first your site before posting a review request (forum, directory) and that "help" page is NOT really helpful as it only contains "Question:What is"
- hosting page looks not professional: okay I know the servers aren't up and running yet...

I won't look further on that site as I don't really like it, it's not finished, not professional (for a professional webdesigner it could be MUCH better), etc.....(too much to write down)

overall: can't rate it, but you should redesign it completely

Hey Mr. Kickass Webdesigner! Do you know that your close to 100kB page-with-hardly-any-content would be max 25 kB if you saved that ugly palm tree as JPG instead of GIF, learnt to optimize pictures and read a basic HTML tutorial so you could clean up bloated wysiwyg (DW?) tables like this:
Code:
  <tr>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="23" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="56" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="50" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="85" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="51" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="84" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="42" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="84" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="43" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="48" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="34" height="1" border="0"></td>
   <td><img src="spacer.gif" width="1" height="1" border="0"></td>
  </tr>
Heard of colspan or cellpadding? :rolleyes:

<<ADD>>
Come to think of it, I can do it for you for $50. It wouldn't take more than 20 minutes so it would be OK. :biggrin2:

BTW, be sure to read the description of Catsh22's exquisite services here. So...modest. :p

For the benefit of them I will show off the cell padding trick.

<table width="100%" cellpadding="1">
<tr>
<td>content</td>
<td>content</td>
</tr>
</table>

<edit>I think those pictures on your site. e.g. the "ugly palm tree" you found on other sites and added catch22design to it.</edit>

Let's not go to the hosting side of things as (1) it isn't offered yet, and (2) it isn't exactly related to the thread (a request for a site review).

The site needs some work, technically and visually. If you are offering design services, people may expect more than what you've posted. I've seen designers with worse sites, so I don't think you're off on a bad start.
