1and1 domain names, great!

I ordered a .com from 1and1.com recently. Not only is it great, but it was only 5.95, and they even sent me a nice little welcome letter and help brochure in the mail!

I am pretty sure they accept paypal but not 100%. The price was actually 5.99 and no you don't have to buy anything else you can just buy a straight domain name.

I completely disagree; I bought a .co.uk domain name from 1&1 and it has caused many problems:

1) You cannot change the nameservers.
2) Their Customer Support service is appalling.

As far as I know, 1and1.com doesn't even register co.uk names, maybe 1and1.co.uk, but I changed my nameservers easily and the customer support replied within hours.

I've heard 1&1 is great until you don't want to have your hosting with them or want to switch your nameservers.

I have no first-hand knowledge with their domain registration, but I do have a hosting account with them.

lol I changed my nameservers as soon as I got the domain and it propogated just fine. What is the point of a domain if you can't change the nameservers? Really?

Same for easyspace.com ... I baught .co.uk domain from them and never used it @ all because of their lot of hidden charges ... I counted that if i just want to chang a name server and show my email in whois then domain price was arount $100

1 and 1 are just fine. I've got quite a few domains with them and I've changed the DNS on a previous one very easily.

They are also available in the UK and Germany. .co.uk domains, for example, cost £1.99 p/year for a minimum of two years + VAT (still under a fiver). .coms are available from the same uk site at £8 for one year excl VAT.

They also give their existing domain name only customers special offers like three months free hosting if they upgrade. Their customer service in the UK is fine.

Just get a free Domain and Hosting Service

Why don't you just get a free one at http://www.uni.cc
and then host for free with http://www.anyxhost.com
The benefits with anyxhost is almost just as good as if you were paying and they except uni.cc domains so if you don't want to pay then that is definitely the way to go. Trust me. I'm with anyxhost and uni.cc and my website will soon be just as good as any other. I'll have downloads, games, entertainment, tutorials on yahoo pool, and much more so that plan is perfect.
