Please no hosts that request endless posts on their damn forum. One or two posts is fine but none of this monthly or weekly stuff thanks.

Required Specs:
- 5Mb+ space
- PHP 4
- MySQL
- 100Mb+ Transfer (monthly)
- Unix or Linux/Apache combo preferable
- No Pop-Up Ads
- No Ad Frames
- No Pop-Under Ads
- No Tripod style Ads (java script watermark style hover ads)

Would Be Nice Specs (optional):
- CGI
- Sub-Domain
- No Ads at all

Acceptable ad styles include:
- Banner top or bottom
- Textlink
- User placeable

- flatface.net (have tried signing up there but now response for a couple of days now when they say its one day setup so I guess I am not gonna get an account)
- xug.net (you have to post a lot in their forums SUCKY)

Why do you need space?
I was hosted by the very generous bloke from http://cdnhost.net but they have gone down. I am currently on portland.co.uk but they are bloody slow . Before that I was kindly hosted by BigPerm (http://bigperm.net) and he also had some problems so I am back on the hunt for free space. Well I have now lost another host. GHS20.com seems to have gone down and I would imagine it will be down forever now. The two main guys running it had a disagreement and now I think the server has been taken offline AGAIN. Anyway so I am now looking for a new host. And despite my efforts at sidez.com. f20.org, evolt.org and flatface.net I have not recieved hosting from any of the above yet.

What do you want the space for?
I have a site dedicated to my car, Alfa Romeo Sprint, and details for fellow owners. For example I have handy tips on repairs etc. In essence it is a news site (powered by PHPWebLog). I post stuff that I have done to my car and I am also running a register of Sprints. It does not take up much server resources or tranfers as far as I know.

The above Portland address is old but has the same design as the current. Its just that the news is not as up to date.

If you know of host but you don't want it to get flooded by applicants by posting it below then please PM me with its address.

Any offers of hosting on someone else space would be gratiously accepted. If you would like to make me an offer like this please PM it to me.

Finally managed to get Fairmount to work, but they won't accept Asian IPs. And even though I am not in Asia, I am in actual fact in Australia, they still ban me. I have had this indiscriminate banning happen before and hosts that do suck.

Any other suggestions welcomed with open arms

Asian IPs

Hello,

Just use a proxy server located elsewhere: your "Asian" address IP won't be detected.

A good list of proxy servers is available at
http://www.samair.ru/xwww/socks.htm

BTW, I'm very angry at these acts of anti-Asian (or other) racism.

I can think of one place that offers this but, they currently have overburdened servers so they charge a $2 (one time) fee for their basic account but they have more then you need and even though I pay for their premium service and never had to pay for the sign up I have never had any regrets about them they are a great host. The only draw back is that if you get their premium service they don't up your bandwidth but they offer more than ten times the bandwidth you are looking for.
