T35 - New Info

amelen

New Member
Just to let everyone know.. we plan to re-open in about a week.. our servers are already at a really good datacenter (ping ns1.t35.com .. pings from east coast are below 20ms). A new hosting script is in the works.. (because i think the old script might have had something to do with the servers crashing a lot, and we will be getting a new one just to be sure)..

I was hopping to open during this weekend, but the script is taking a little more time than expected..

edit: ns1.t35.com might not be loading from the new server for everyone, i just changed the dns info yesterday night.. so if its slow ping's.. try back tomorrow.. or ping the ip (below).. this is what i get pinging from NJ:

Pinging ns1.t35.com [63.217.26.141] with 32 bytes of data:

Not bad for the west coast.

Yeh, its a little worse from the west coast, but that should be fixed soon.. server is not connected to the main backbone yet.. Once it is, it should help for the west coast pings a little..

Also... if you do a tracert.. its only a few hopes.. as opposed to the 20-30 hopes of low grade networks like Cogent.

You should have said 21-30 :p

Again from west coast. My ISP sucks (will soon change from M$N.. VERY soon), but anyway.

lol, how many times have you closed and re-opened?
How many people have spent countless hours uploading stuff to there site using a 56k modem, so T35 can shut down again within a week?
well, good thing i have a host thats really reliable, and Bs free :)

( - P z Y - ).. the first 20 hopes are all ur ISP.. and its loading the ns1.t35.com from the old ip.. try 63.217.26.141

grand.. we were open 2 years.. then went down because of legal issues, and when we tried to re-open a few weeks ago we had lots of problems.. I understand the problems of people uploading the 10kb site several times.. But me and the rest of the T35 staff spent 2 weeks withuot sleep reconfiguring the servers a total of 12 times and watching them break the next day.. Also take into account that the members didn't lose any money, while i am in lots of debt now, and have not been able to pay anyone from my staff for the past 2months.

I'm in the Metro-Atlanta area [marietta, acworth, kennesaw, atlanta, gwinnett, roswell] of Georgia, and i get this:

Kind of slow from here, of course i'm using Bellsouth, which is constantly lagging.

Uh oh, Crosswinds.net syndrome - they're famous for having their staff go for months without pay just to keep their free unlimited space a reality. Going for a long period of time without pay is not a situation I would like to be in.

Crosswinds does not have 'free unlimited space' , they delete you if you have too much.

It's okay for you guys in the US (no matter which side) on cable or whatever, but just look at these times from New Zealand on a 56k!

And I reckon that's quite fast for the sites that I've seen. Count yourselves as lucky!!! ;)

It's great to hear that T35 will be back soon! I know a great thing when I see it, and T35 is definitely on that list :). I don't mind about re-uploading myself- hey, when you think of what the T35 staff have had to do, I personally wouldn't worry about having to re-upload every hour, never mind a few times! (well, maybe that's not quite true...)

Actually, amelen, while I'm here- I didn't quite get to see if anyone had responded to my question just before you shut down (I came back to check your forum and you'd gone), so can I just ask again if PHP will be supported with the new system? You're front cover says CGI, but not PHP. As I've changed all my scripts over to PHP for you (well, also I reckon it's faster), and stupidly deleted the old CGI ones :)confused2:), I now kind of need PHP...

I don't suppose there's any way of doing a bank transfer from NZ to you... my Bank does online banking, where you can issue a "Fast Cheque" to someone else's account. But I suppose that's only for New Zealand- unless US accounts have the format xx-xxxx-xxxxxxx-xxx? That would be the only way I could help- unless I could help with a script or something?

I've been kicking my heels around this board for far too long- I should have joined ages ago. So- hello!

can u just point out that t35.com provide a FREE service .....

IF your not happy .. just ask for you money back .. all $0 you spent :angry2:

People seem to have not noticed my 2 posts about this above.. so here it goes again

its loading the ns1.t35.com from the old ip for some of you.... try 63.217.26.141 -> thats the new one.. please tell me if the pings and tracert's are better from there...

Sorry, amelen, but I think that you're planning to offer too much for free, without having a solid base. Why don't you offer a really good extremely cheap paid hosting. For many people will be the same as free. Let's say 10$/year, like discount-hosting. And if you wish offer a number of free accounts too. Always having respect for your server.

if you offer alternative payment methods many people will buy your service. As you know one of the basic reasons that people search for a free host is that they don't own a credit card or they don't want to use one on the net.

How'd that happen? I'm sure it was the new 64 one... at least it was the first time I tried- but that one didn't even get there within the 30 hops, so I tried again. It must have reverted back or something? Wierd!

Now (and it is certainly on the 64.217.26.141), it's giving an average of 1700-2000... LOL! I'm sure it's one of my ISP's upstream providers- it happens straight away at telstraclear, which I think is Australian (that is a guess though), so there must be something to do with that. But it seems to come up pretty quickly in the browser, so...

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!!:D

And thanks for the PHP!!!!!!!!!
