Page Views, Page Hits?

Is number of visits same as Page Views?

unique hits = the number of different people who've viewed your page (repeats don't count)
page views = the number of times your page has been viewd (repeats count)

A "hit" is a single file that has been requested from a server. Thus, an HTML page with a logo and a CSS file would produce three "hits." The "views" are just the HTML page.
That's how I understand it, anyway.

I like to put it in ad terms. I call a view an ad impression and a click on an ad a hit.
