Nulled Scripts?

Hello,
With our new server and all, we need a script that can find nulled scripts. I've heard of these before, but I would like to know where I could find one.

Thanks!
Mason

If someone is using a nulled script, you usually get an email from the developers or your datacentre when it's reported.

no need to run null script detector, just wait for complaints only suspend them.
:)
coz there is no completely good null script detector so far.

And really, the only way to create a complete accurate nulled script checker would be to API into each scripts' license server, which would be impossible (some script owners surely would not allow this).

One way would be to "read" the contents. While it would be time consuming, most nullers place tags inside the code. You can also search for selective files, with specific lines of code. If they aren't found, it would alert. Then the host can do their checkups. Another way is if certain files are encoded in for example, IonCube, "reading" the file would alert if it is encoded or un-encoded.

You can use PHP among other languages to do it. Would be possible.

yeah, but it is still taking up a lot of time and afford to do this.
anyway, those sites that 90% will use nulled script usually is those websites with domains such as "underground", "warez", "porn", "nulled".

90% chance that these kind of websites is using nulled scripts.
i suspended a lot of websites like this after i find out that they not only hosting contents that violated the AUP/TOS, and they using nulled scripts in my servers which also violated the AUP/TOS.

why care? if it hasnt been reported your not breaking the law lol.

The .nfo files as said before, certain group names and other related terms would yield the results that you're looking for if used with a shell script correctly ;-)

Yeah. Like footers that say: "Nulled by ScRiPt MaFiA" or some other cracker-hacker code. They seem to put things in the PHP files, too like:
"
<?php
*/ Nulled by: xxxx /*
script
?>

some of them have backdoor added such as shell scripts...

We have a script running on our server (Hostwoot.com) that checks for nulled scripts and rapidleech scripts once every day. Umarsa (from HostWoot.com) made it. Works great. If it finds nulled script or rapidleech, it suspends the account and reports back to umarsa :)

I don't get why hosts get crazy about this....

You have to remember.. you WILL NOT get charged right away.

When I hosted in the past. I had companies email me directly, and they gave me time to address the problem. That way I could talk to my client and figure out if the software was in fact pirated. And, basically gave them 24 hrs to remove it or suspend their account.

These days all these hosters are all scared for nothing. YOU HAVE EFFICIENT time to address the problem. It's npt like you get sued or go to court the next day.

@Cal,
usually host will give warning to the client to remove the nulled script within 24 hours if they receive complaint.

but usually, most of these abusers refuse to do so, especially those on free hosting accounts.

A nulled script checker is pretty hard to come by, unless you have in-house who developed it themselves.

My congrats to Eugene Kostin, the Head of Anti Piracy Department of Template Monster company. You did it, man! All templatemonster templates were deleted from scriptmafia.org.
It's time to ask your boss about promotion

Well, on Hostwoot, we had a phishing website hosted by one of the resellers under us. They emailed us about it and to suspend it and send the website to them as zip file. It was France anti fraud agency or smt like that. We wouldn't have believed them if they did not have a .gov domain! That was scary btw!
