No more Livegate?

I got this email. Is this true or a hoax?

Keynetex was forced to shut down the free hosting server after eBay
issued a legal document stating many of LiveGate's members were using free
accounts to steal and/or gather user information, credit card
information, usernames/passwords for eBay accounts, etc...

This move on eBay's part has hurt the LiveGate property as well as it's
members. Because of this issue, we are currently working on a new
standard for free account access. This may include administration
authorization for all new/existing accounts and/or new TOS agreements (Collecting
members information).

This is not a hoax it was an issue that has been resolved with eBay. We had to shut down the free hosting server and after receiving more than 800 emails requesting support on the issue, we decided to send the email stated above. There are a few reasons for the email such as letting every member know what was happening throughout the day. But the number 1 reason for the email was to warn any member who was involved in illegal activity. We have since then stepped up our Internet Security and continually monitor traffic coming into the server from outside sources (such as ebay.com etc...). This has helped us greatly in finding, removing and blocking members who are involved in illegal activity.

So to answer your question, yes LiveGate was shut down for a 9 hour period at eBay's request. But we are here to stay. :D
