Because you might be working away on a project and you don't want to have to switch from window to window to start playing another song. Playlist, you've got your songs all mapped out and they just roll, one after the other.

Playlists are all fine and dandy, but the thing I hate is that after a while your playlist starts sounding like 1 big song, and when you hear the end of song xxx somewhere else, you instinctively start singing the beginning of song yyy and look like the tard that you really are.
