I have recently switched to ubuntu from xp. It took me few days to configure everything the way I want and install all applications I need, but now I'm more than satisfied. And wouldn't "degrade" back to xp.

Debian is for -----es.

And it's good for laptops because it comes with so manyh drivers built in ro the kernel.

I'm just using it as a media server now, but it works great. ushare is lovely

If you're comfortable with the command line, back up your media and put ArchLinux on it with one of the *box GUIs

Your jaw will drop with how little memory it uses and how fast it runs.
