If you wanted this new iPhone, and you don't live in the states... you aren't with AT&T? No Worries! As of next week you will be able to start buying this software that allows you to use the iPhone on any provider as long as your provider uses SIM cards!

Thoughts/opinions? :D

Note: Since it costs so much money for the iPhone and I just recently got a new phone it'll be a few years before I consider buying one

Heard about that yesterday, was on a iPhone blog. Saw the Youtube video of the unblocked iPhone. Bets on how long before Apple patches that? ;)

HTC needs to get their crap together and make something better. it has been the same damn interface since windows ce. nothing is really any better, and there are still the same old problems with it. dont get me wrong, i like my windows mobile phone, but, it could be better.

You mean Windows Mobile 6?

i think you may be smoking crack buddy ;)

 Only thing thats nice about the iphone is that you can listen to music and talk on the phone. Its a nice idea about implanting itunes into the phone but I don't really like it since it kills of the battery very quickly.

Right now I have the motorola sliver v7 which has itunes in it and its working perfectly fine for a cheap price.

I thought it was developed and maintained by Microsoft?

Can you provide a reference/citation of what you said? :)
it is a know fact. also, go to htc.com

I can't really find antyhing on HTC.com regarding Windows Mobile 6 except for the fact that they are creating upgrades for their PDA's to migrate from PPC2003 to WM6.

I also checked Wikipedia and they do not mention anything about HTC developing WM6.

Additionaly, the About screen of a HTC Touch says "2007 copryright Microsoft corporation"...

Please refer to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx

And:

Microsoft lifted the embargo and is expected to officially unveil the next version of its Windows Mobile OS on Monday, February 12. Previously code-named Crossbow, Windows Mobile 6 sports many improvements and enhancements over the previous version.

Quoted from: http://www.geek.com/first-impressions-windows-mobile-6/

I really don't understand how you believe that WM6 is developed by HTC. They might need to modify/alter the OS to let it function on their devices, but that doesn't mean they are the main developers.

Windows Mobile is made by microsoft, not by htc. Just because HTC sells their phones with windows mobile preinstalled, does not mean they developed windows mobile, or that they own copyright of windows mobile. Get your facts straight. Besides, there alot of other phones, non-HTC, that use windows mobile.

and here's the final proof: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/default.mspx

maybe it was the upgrade thing that got me confused. :S plus i had read it somewhere, but, can remember the place, adn obviously the source they got it from was no good then.

HTC does make a TON of Windows Mobile phones, but worldwide, their are other manufacturers. Most of the US Pocket PC phones though, are made by them in one way or another.

I have an HTC PPC6800 and loving it ;) Had a 6700 before and liked it to. I don't think iPhone has the "pda" features that I desire and I like the fact Windows Mobile is very customizable since there is such a large base of user-created programs.
