HELP: How do you make pictures semi-transparent?

um, its not a code, its photoeffects, just use photoshop or GIMP or something, u can change the blending mode or the opacity

BTW for the record it IS code because the original pics (if you click on them) aren't modified.
 
if you click on them, the background is white. so naturally it doesnt show as semi-transparent at all. its the opacity filtering in your phothshop program

JPEGs don't and can't have transparency or an alpha channel.
 
Yes. I know how vampirefreaks.com works, you have to upload a pic and they modify it into a thumbnail. Therefore, because the enlarged pics aren't transparently modified, the thumbnails must have been visibly edited through code.

Thus, I was right all along. :p

If you won't take our word for it, take a look at the site. It should be in an a:hover CSS definition.
