you are routed through cogent, their main line is down, but cogent is up. I wonder why I am not switched to cogent when the main is down.

For you a host yourself to suggest such a cliam is outrageous. You should actually verify that dv2 is completley down before posting these ridiculous claims. Because you route via Williams or Verio does not mean everyone will.

The only think I don't get is the fact that I always go through Cogent, yet I still coldn't reach most sites hosted at DV2.

I could reach myacen.com for example, but I couldn't reach any sites hosted there...

Yep....seems to be, I just tried two sites.....have patience, I am sure they are just ironing out a few bugs. Just unfortunate that it is the day you decide to go live :cry2:

First of all, Daniel claim the host is up and 3 people from this forum says it's down. First thing come to mind, is this guy covering something up? That is logic myacen, unless if you dont have any.

2nd, Dont blame it on the NOC if it is down, You purchased the server from that noc, and Client would not want to hear 'oh the guy where i get the server from had some problem, bla bla bla' always putting the blame on the noc. You get the server from them, IT IS your responsibility that your client's website is up, whether it's the NOC's fault or something else.

3rd, from the thread starter, "myacen is down 'AGAIN'" it looks it is down more than 2 times already recently before this one.

Traffic that was being routed through cogent was up ( at least for the most part ) daniels paste of traceroutes wasn't much help, as it seems he pasted all of the same traces. DV2 was receiving a heavy dos for more information see the post @ WHT that Robert was pointing out. Everything seems to be running fine now, lets all keep our fingers crossed.

We have had the servers in dv2 for months without problems. We keep clients upto date with information regarding outages. If it's the NOC who else do we lay the blame on?

On that note quoted, I would also like to know when this persons site was down. Considering sydney has had just over 60 days of uptime before a kernel upgrade.

Edit: Talking about nocs, unitedcolo ain't much better, considering they faked nac connectivity, and have had alot of downtime over the past 2 months.

I can not believe you even say that. That really proves something isn't it ? A host that wont take the blame and pass it on the noc when something went wrong. I suppose you also tell your client " oh dv2 didnt take care of my hardware, it is not my fault" or maybe " dv2 did not fix the apache, it is not my fault"

<<removed/ please read the rules regarding personal attacks>

At least I didnt blame the noc for being down, I didnt go "the noc went down, it is not my fault that the noc went down"

I gave them full refund unlike some host that can only pass the blame on the noc.

I was just stating the point that the pysical servers are up. And Techxon, what happens if whatever ISP your datacentre uses, suddenly goes out and you have no control over the situation? Robert was in that same position...

Whooops, looks like I didn't clear the clipboard before copy and pasting.
