An feedback. The service looks great. $5/month...unlimited space...unlimited transfer...$100/year for SSL!...
Too good to be true??? :confused:
 
Yes sorry to tell you it is to good to be true, unlimited webspace & transfer don't exist. You can do a search for them in these forums if you wish.
 
Yeah man, I hosted my site with them after seeing all those things in their website. Eg: unlimited bandwidth, unlimited space etc etc. Well to make the story short, after a couple of visitors to my site, they suspended my site and sent me an email saying they were going to move me to a different server. Well that happened on the 3rd of December. I am still waiting for their confirmation email. I have sent numerous emails to their support and no replies so far. In other words the Australian government needs to shut them out for good cause this company is a big trap. They even hold your domain name hostage.:mad:



P.S. Even if you decide to go with them after you read all this, please read the Terms and Conditions before you sign up.
 
if you haven't relialised yet, they are a donhost reseller..... they can't offer ulimited bandwidth because all resellers on donhost get 50gb bandwidth/month

Now, this is just not true, if you send me a check for "unlimited" amount of dollars I can provide you with unlimited webspace and bandwidth.

Not bandwidth. It would probably endanger your server and especially your HD if you are using up more than 1000MB per second. :p
 
Lodge a complaint with the ministry of fair trading in the state that you live in. Also any Australian webhosting company without an abn number may face tax problems later on. (If you don't have an abn, the host must pay the tax department 48.5% of what they charge you)
 
i am with hostonce and have had no trouble at all ,they are 100% reliable ,no there is no such thing as unlimited bandwith with any host ,if there was it would get abused ,i use over 10gb per month bandwith with no problems ,if you have have problems there is a support form to fill out on their site ,if you submit this you will get a reply ,if you just email them without a username and password then it may take longer.

Yup .... mik .... 10gb per month ... hmmm ... i'll look at your site when i get time in my busy life ( remembers i have no life .... so i will have a look in a mo once i have finished looking at other forums :classic2: )

To be honest .... the thing with offer unlimited data-transfer is your host is trying to get you to join cos you think .... ahh .. welll ..... i wont have to pay for additional data-transfer .... well there is a reason why you wont ... cos 9/10 they will "suspend" your account due to you being a high resource user ... meaning your using the unlimited data-transfer too much .. and they can't afford to pay the bill .... so the unlimited data-transfer is really very limited.
 
well the truth is they are not resellers ,they infact offer reseller accounts,i think if people look closer they will realize that hostonce is a domain name for a larger company,they do know what they are doing when it comes to hosting hence the price,we all have our own opinions about companies but it`s unfair to post messages that are maybe not 100% facts
 
they may not be a donhost reseller.... but they are a reseller

why aren't they're nameservers like they're domain

they name servers are ns1.livedns.co.uk and ns2.livedns.co.uk

it is quite obvious... and any host with theey're own servers coudn't afford to offer that much for the price they offer......

you can name your dns settings whatever you like it doesn`t mean they aren`t your servers
they have a few more aswell ,they are not a reseller ,they are netspecialist ltd ,ask them direct if they are a reseller ,they now offer hosting in the us,australia and uk

i don`t want to get in to a big post about it ,bottom line is i am very happy with them ,everyone has ther own opinion:)
