Hey All, WebThingy here, main man over at www.asp2.net

Im doing a bit of market research and wondered if you guys could help me out.

I regularly post our price list over on the Web Hosting Offers forum and usually undercut all of the other hosts prices whenever possible. The messages also get lots of views - usually between 50 and 150.

But

No customers!

So, if you have read the ads over on the other forum, or even if you would like to attempt a guess, please fill in the form above.

Cheers all! And look out for another wave of free accounts soon..

Hey man,

For some reason, I couldn't view your page. I got a cannot find server error. Maybe that is the reason why nobody signs up with you?????:D

$4.99 is not cheap prize....there is cheaper hosts, and no domain registering in this prize, + how long are your host alive?

Heh, a good thought, but im afraid that this must be a problem with your ISP as our site is functioning perfectly at present :)

Hey ClyderMan,

Not sure what you mean by 'alive', but the host has been running since last July, and since then the live uptime readout from www.qwkmon.com is an impressive 99.62%

Hosts are welcome to participate on the Paid Hosting forum, but are not allowed to start new threads or advertise their business by plugging their company and/or URL.
The thread has been moved but I'm a bit uneasy letting posts like this remain. Reason being is more hosts could ask the same questions about their ad/offer in an attempt to increase publicity.

If your VALUE package hade cost $1.99 I would be interested, it cost too much. I have surfing around net seeking for host and comparing prizes, and you're not cheap :(

HEY HEY HEY!
I am a reseller of Donhost too!
Nice to meet you!

Are you The Dream Creators?
You gave Daniel the Control Panel Template! :)

Depends on what's being offered for that.

Personally, I see the allowed data transfer as the biggest issue. Why would I pay $4.99 per month for only 1 GB transfer per month, while discount-hosting works about to about $0.80 per month and gives 5 times as much data transfer? Unless you really have to have Perl support, which seems kind of redundant when you already have PHP... or if you really want to use FrontPage ( :nervous: ).

And for the other plans, again, plenty of other hosts offer more for the same price or less.

Works fine for me...

Could be you lose some customers because of your company name. It wasn't until recently I realized you weren't an Windows host. I see ASP and simply don't read any further.

Hi All,

Thanks for all of your responses and suggestions.

I've looked at the survey results and have thought up the following:

1) We need lower prices. How about:
Value Package - $2.49/month
Starter Package - $4.99/month
Business Package - $9.99/month
Corporate Package - $14.99/month

2) People dont like the fact that we're Donhost resellers. No problem because we're moving to a RaQ4i at RackShack pretty soon..

3) A name change, something involving UNIX, hmmmmm....

Oh, and also thanks to the person who said that they didnt sign up because they dont like me :D

Any comments on these plans, or suggestions on how we could carry them out? Let me know! :)

Thanks again,

~WebThingy
