Favorite as in what? A movie I particularly admire for some specific quality, a movie with the most worth-while central message, a most beautifully filmed movie, deepest or shallowest movie, most fun or funny movie, a movie I most enjoyed first watching, a movie I enjoy repeatedly watching...?
Picking a single "favorite" is well-nigh impossible. Even picking a single movie for a specific category is difficult, but to name a movie I most enjoy repeatedly watching (what I most associate with "favorite") I would have to say Barry Lyndon for its stunningly filmed scenes (including, but not limited to, it's revolutionary candle-lit interiors), its subtle dry and satirical humor, well chosen musical score, messages on futile class struggle and worlds built on lies, not terribly deep but still present subtext covering Barry's rise and fall, and much criticized but in truth excellent casting. I also admire it for being a well-done screen adaptation of a book. Getting down even further, my two favorite scenes are Bryan's death (the best dramatic performance Ryan O'Neal has ever given, in my opinion) and Lady Lyndon's signing of Barry's annuity (it speaks volumes about the situation and feelings of those involved without saying a single word, I believe the most desirable quality a movie scene can possess).

Like Nick, pretty much anything ever made by Kevin Smith.
Plus I loved Detroit Rock City, the Dead Poets Society, Half Baked (They Killed Killer, B!!), Wayne's World, and Training Day.
