Hey....
Reverse SEO is the technique of removing or de-ranking websites other than your own from the first pages of Google. Reverse SEO now days is using as one of the most effective strategies for minimizing the impact of bad publicity within the search engines organic listings. Reverse SEO is an online reputation management tool for SEO consultants who manage Online Reputation Management

Because Search Engines (most important, Google) are a good source of traffic.
For a webhosting site this traffic can bring potential new customers.
If you're not selling anything yet, it's still good to make your website known, grow your popularity and build your brand.

SEO is a business! People spend time to make some kind of tests and compare results, learning how Search Engines act and their algo.
People spend time, Companies spend money to hire them.

That's true!
People spend time, Companies spend money to hire them
I have a small business and not to much money to spend. Each ''crap'' on SEO could be a good or bad information. It's up to me to decide. So let the man talk...maybe it's something new...if not , the thread will die it self.

inspection, when it comes to hire a SEO expert, try to find one with years of experience, I found some really smart guys on LinkedIn groups; they do their own research. To be an expert on SEO is not an easy task, you must follow the trends, read all the news on Google Webmaster blog, and other good sources. Never trust 100% on what Google says on their blog, this is what They want you to Believe. You can use that information and test it :)
They will never reveal details on how to rank better on their Search Engine, but they do offer some general tips. Google Webmaster Guidelines it's a must read.

Your arguing over someone that's made 2 posts, both to do with SEO, both not great or informative in any way.

Don't forget NEGATIVE SEO is the subject, what a crock, if the rest of the world want's to hump you your stuffed.

Let this thread die a suitable death :) and open a good one on SEO
