What do you think about domain hacks?

By domain hacks I mean sites like del.icio.us (now delicious.com). Are these good choices for domain names? Why or why not?

No, I don't think so. del.icio.us happened to be successful with its domain hack. But can you think of another?

The domain which you may interested in,but has been registered by someone else.Thence domain hacks shall be another choice.
 
If you want to buy a domain, you can also look at Whois info and contact the registrant, then discuss the price you can give for the domain.
