Warez or Porn??

Hi,

Don't know if i'm allowed to post this but i think it isn't an illegal question!

A couple of friends of mine own a warez-website. I want to start a porn website but they say a warez-site earns more money than a porn-website. I think Warez-Sites are bullshit so in my opinion, a porn-site earns much more!

What do you think? Does a warez-site earns more money? or does a Porn-Site earns more money?

When i finish my website, my friends and i will look over the statistics to compare our profit!

Selling sex is the biggest business on the net. Even in the slowdown people having sex sites are doing mega-business. Go with porn. You will earn lot's and lot's

But please please refrain from child pornograhpy.

I've met someone who has... But I didn't know it until several years later...

I used to do security at an apartment building in Downtown Phoenix and used to chat with some of the tenants now and then. There was one guy that I talked to several times because he was a tour driver/guide which is what my parents also did at the time. Years later, long after I finally got a real job, :D I was watching the news and they were talking about a big child porn ring here in Arizona that had just gotten busted. They mentioned the names of the leaders and it was the same name as this fellow I used to talk to.... Then they showed his picture and it was him alright... Still kinda creepy to think about it.... He seemed totally cool when I used to talk to him.... No matter how normal a person can seem on the surface, you never know what lies beneath. :eek:

I don't see why you really need either kinds of sites.

Warez is illegal and you are stealing for companies, you may think that the company has enough money and their software isn't worth what they want for it but they may be charging so much because not many people are buying their product since they can get it off a warez site.

Then with porn sites the people that go to them are people that can't find a date. Well if you spend less time looking at porn and more time trying to find a date you won't have to look at the porn anymore.

These kinds of sites make the internet "dirty" and I wouldn't want children to come across things like this.
 
Oh, yes, can't let children see naked people. On their 18th birthday, then they'll be able to watch people having sex without getting emotional scars...

I myself try to avoid internet porn, but I don't see how anyone watching it is going to be "hurt" by it...

Porn is making the internet "dirty" ????? Hey, No Offence... but I think what your saying is bullshit! Ok, I agree.. Warez sux and makes the internet unreliable! But Porn is NOT illegal so it doesn't make the internet dirty! If you don't want kids to see porn on the net, don't allow them to surf on the internet!

I have a Girlfriend (2,5 years). I own 2 Porn-Sites and visit some porn-sites everyday! so what your saying here doesn't make any sense at all.

Setting aside "morality" for the moment...

Full-version warez are illegal. Crackz and serialz may be borderline, but will still tend to attract the wrong kind of attention from lawyers, etc.

If your host gets threatening letters from a software company's legal/anti-piracy staff, and shuts your site down, how profitable do you think that will be?

People who visit warez sites are there because they are inclined to steal. And if they are going to steal software, do you really think they will turn around and make legitimate purchases from your advertisers?

Most advertisers frown on warez, copyrighted pictures, and even "potentially illegal" MP3s. The main sponsor options for warez sites are pay-per-signup porn advertisers.

So, since you will likely be using porn sponsors anyway, you might as well attract targeted traffic with porn content. The porn-seekers will probably be a bit more inclined to sign up with their own credit card, in contrast to the warez-seekers probable inclination to use stolen numbers (resulting in a charge-back and reversal of your commission.)

Also, porn is less likely to get you in legal trouble, as long as you follow certain basic standards regarding the content.

There is no magical category of site that will allow you to just sit around rake in cash without effort or expense. Earning money with porn still involves work, and it is a quite competitive field. Just as with warez, you can easily burn up lots and lots bandwith with lots and lots of low-quality traffic.

But if it is a choice between those two options, definitely go with porn.
