Unlimited web hosting without storage rules

I really need to store some files to some friends of mine, the site would be personal, and it would be just audio or video files.
As for the rules, which is why most hosting cons are using the site to store personal files, especially the free and unlimited (I have no money, need to be free).

My question is, would these files be copyrighted? I can't imagine they wouldn't be. Why can't you just use a free file hosting site instead?
