I order a .info domain through our system, and it was online INSTANTLY! I went to view it right after I ordered, it was already up. I goto namesecure, and it already shows it as being registered (we resell through tucows, but I check via namesecure.) How come com and net domains dont go up that fast???

I was expecting to have to wait about 24-48 hours before it would be up and propagated...

Perhaps .info goes through a different process of propergation. With TLDs, every ISP has to go "fetch" the DNS off a server somewhere, which perhaps isn't the case with .info.

DNS is resolved through a hierarchical structure -- in many ways like the memory hierarchy. ISPs cache DNS hits for a certain amount of time, but never download the entire listing -- .info is no exception.

Sounds like .info is just a little more timely in updating their .info master nameserver.
