I don't know what happened but I still hope you guys will give some explanation. I did usbscribe to you adds etc you know.

I can accept the fact you stop your service, but I can't accept you doing so and never hearing from you again.

I know it's not smart from me, but I need a backup of my website and that's the least you can do for me!!!

BTW I did find a new host. http://www.sdf-eu.org

They rule! Been up for more than a decade.

If you transfer 1 buck through paypal your account is verified and you can do quite some stuff. (no ftp)
If you pay them 35 bucks you have a lifetime account with ftp and additional services and 100MB of storage.
Check their history pages, these are the kind of people that really want to do some good and help people out for almost nothing.

I'm still mad a bout this. Ofcourse, they were offering too much to maintain without being some kind of charity organization, but just stopping operation like this is totally rude!

The only thing I can make of this is that it's some really lame assholes normally selling webspace and by this making the statement that free hosting doesn't work. Well, they succeeded, but I do want my backup!

Anyone have names and addresses of these people? I saw some people mention old domain names.... There's websites that cache pages till years back you know..

I have to get my backup!!!

yeah, I got that..... But how you're gonna mail someone on a domain that isn't pointing to any IP anymore?

And the address probably is false.....


That's why old records and domains might be interesting....

Think that third domain has been boaght by someone else...


Anyway, we all know they reed these forums. I expect to hear from them here soon.

If not, well, I hope they suffer a lot before they die, and they probably will.....

BTW

Possibly they bought the server with a false creditcard or so.... Anyone got the IP they were using for the actual hosting? Might be nice to ask the hosting company about them....

I remember these guys. They used to have another free hosting service that went under then ultrabitt came up. Aparently they were funded by a consulting firm that went under. There was a lot of angry people, this is not surprise.

I found it. It used to be gcsnet.net.

Do a search for both ultrabitt.com and gcsnet.net.

Seems they redirected that domain name with some popups etc...:) Damn they suck!

They're suffering allready, only the mind of a really sick and severely traumatized person can think of somthing as lame as all this.

I don't need that backup and I feel truly sorry for these people... Actually, I feel truly sorry for everyone in the zero margin business of selling <$25 hosting accounts or scamming people into it by giving them crappy free webhosting.

People, wake up!!! You better start a nonprofit company and do some good by being straightforward! Hell, even a pornsite is a better and more straightforward aproach to making some cash on the internet....
