Host looking for a host.

Ok, let me start off by clearing the smoke. We are a hosting company in search of a home for our off network web hosting support site. By off network, what I mean is, off of any of the networks we use ( Rackshack & DV2 ).

I am looking for suggestions from current customers as to whom you believe would provide us with the best uptime, and quality service. Here are the basic needs, which will be expanding in the coming months. So room to grow is important.

50 MB
5 GB bandwidth
3 mySQL DB's
php4.2
10 + POP3
10 + Sub Domains.

Thats about it. Again, im looking for Suggestions from customers and not Offers from Web hosts. Please try to include with your Post/Reply and sites you have hosted with the perticular host you are suggesting.

However, if any web hosts are interested in making a swap. Please see the following thread:

Thanks guys.

I highly recommend http://fluidhosting.com

Their servers are located at InterNAP with direct connections to the top nine providers (UUNET, Verio, ATT, Sprint, etc.)

Their prices aren't the cheapest, but you're paying for top quality.

I've been hosting http://thaportal.com there for around 4 months now and have had no problems at all.

Funny how Fluidhosting's main site is slower than your site.

Hi Bruce,

thank you for your recommendation :)

For Daniel, I am not aware of any problem that can explain what you experienced. I would very much appreciate it if you can pm me telling me your problem (when, what, etc) so that I may have a lead/clue into what may have caused this.

regards,
Dave@FluidHosting.com

Daniel, you work for Myacen, right? Please don't post bad comments about other hosts here.

No sorry your mistaken. I don't see it as a bad comment either, just an observation. You should have taken this privatley.

In his signature it states: Myacen Sales and has a link to your site so the mistake is an understandable one. If you are affiliated with any particular hosting company you should reserve judgement on the other host. This is a professional courtesy that I think all businesses should respect (but often don't).

Not to mention that other hosting companies shouldn't bring up broad generalizations like the site is slow. Any decent host should be able to point out that it could be the users ISP. Without running a trace and pinpointing any packet loss / slow response times it's really to generic to even know if the host in question was slow or if it was the posters ISP / or even their own computer acting up.

So two points:
1. General Comments that don't provide any detailed information aren't very helpful.
2. Hosting companies shouldn't comment on other hosting companies. The only exception I could possibly see to this rule is if the comment was negative to themselves or upstream where they don't benefit from making such a comment. Considering how rare such a comment would be I don't expect Peo to change the rules for such a situation.

I want to point out that the info above is meant for all posters and isn't aimed at Myacen or Daniel directly. Now lets return to the thread...
