I need a stable free host for a small, plain WordPress 2.5 personal blog to eventually be updated daily and receive many visitors.

I will have almost no graphics
I will not carry my own ads or conduct commerce
I won't be downloading files to visitors
I do not need more than a few megs
I will accept a reasonable footer ad/link or forum post requirement

I would like a subdomain [me.you.com]
I would like cpanel, SQL & PHP
I can't accomodate header or sidebar ads -- footer OK
[but no scam or porn sponsors!]
I need solid uptime and adequate bandwidth

Previous provider is now down more than up. What's the point? :cry2:

I am more then willing to help you with hosting you blog, with just a minor tiny ad (Google Adsense) at the bottom of your page however I ask what content your blog will be about.

What content specifically would concern you?

Here's my *big* question for any respondent: "Is it your honest expectation that your free service will still be running on a well-maintained basis with the same user conditions two years from today?"

I ask this because every host I've previously used has either gone down or into derelict maintenance within two to seven months of my signup, and that includes a pay service. :confused4

I've been hosting sites, including my own since about 2000. I've moved a lot, but it's always been a quick and easy transition (I like to keep up with the latest revisions of PHP/SQL/Apache, etc).

Your blog sounds like something I'd be happy to host.

I have no requirements and there are no catches. If you want to link back to geeklan.com, feel free. It's not required.

Mem: 2G
Disk: 120G - Alloted to hosting: 5G

Why do I do this?

Because I run my own blog off the server and it's a waste of CPU cycles to have it idle. The 3 sites that I own are quiet and lightly trafficed and I host about a dozen other lightly traffic'd domains (a number from requests here).

So, am I stable and will I be here in 2 years?
