Co-Location is when you send your server that you own to them and they will place it on their conneciton and you pay the co-location space fee + bandwidth charges.

So if I get my server up there,
it costs me only $1.00/month to put it on a fast connection?
When I reach my 500GB bandwidth I need to pay extra?

Well they have insane prices. But basically you are paying $1/mo. for 500GB of transfer. the $49/mo. is what you are paying for the space where they place your server.
