Please read if looking for a host

i usually like netfirms, and have done a lot of straffic with them,
took a while to get my YaBB to display inside of a frame, but once i got it working, itr worked great...

built a site for my band there, and two days after deploy, kaboom, no more cgi functions, keeps saying i am going over my limit for cgi daily.

so here i am, looking for a better cgi host.

Those all suck. the 2nd best host is Hypermart? Hypermart sucks, 1 banner, 1 text link and 1 pop-up on each page as well as 500MB bandwidth. Also geocities sucks

Really? Ever started a free host yourself? There's no money in it. I have yet to see a good reason to improve ours better than what it is now. We can improve it drastically...we can make it do whatever, but why? Give me a good enough reason to do so and a way for me to make my money back, and I will consider it.

We will be making a lot of improvements in about two months, but dont expect the limits to change..

i still don't trust anything that says free, but wants your credit info...

The bandwidth charging thing is purely...
No notification, no anything, you just charge. The hells of fine print. Also, you'll remember a good 75% of people on free hosting only do so because they are too young to own a credit card. This could be positive as you have fewer.. stupid.. sites, but...

i know its not much to do with 'free hosts' but how does one go about getting around blocked / proxied sites. Im asking coz i live in the UAE and there are an extrodinarily massive amount of blocked sites over here, bit like saudi arabia really. :biggrin2:

That's why I started using proxies.

Hey conkermaniac R U getin host.sk oHH then mebbe it is blocked only in some parts of china. www.host.sk and db.host.sk will load fine but none of the member sites are displayed in this part of china. AngelFire, Tripod and Netfirms are also blocked in this part of china.
