I don't know what the problem is and I don't want to format my disk again cuz I have done that 4 hours before(I usually do that for speeding up my system)
Please help me!Please!

Right click the CHM file select open with and select the program it is affiliated with since I am not sure what CHM files are used with but that should work

That depends on you.

Where did you get it from? for what?

ah?
.chm files should be opened by the Microsoft HTML Help-hh by default.(When I click on it,it should be opened by hh automatically)
Now,it doesn't do it!
So I don't know what else I could use to open it!

Right click on it and do the Open With -- thing.

In XP there is a option where you can say always open this type of file with this. but i dont think your using XP.

As far as I was aware there's an "Always use this program to open this type of file" option in all versions of Windows. It may not be worded exactly the same, but I'm pretty sure there is one.

Is it all .cmh files that are affected or are you trying to open one to a specific program? I clicked on one when I did a search for them this morning and it brought up all the Front Page help files, if I click on mspaint.chm it brings up paint help files.

I'm using Windows XP Professional edition.(Simplified Chinese)
I can right-click the .chm file and select open with. However, there are no more suitable programs to open .chm file rather than HH.

p.s. All my chm files could not be opened!

Have you tried doubleclicking instead of rightclicking? If you have, I would suggest you reinstall WinXP to fix any problems. Either that or try to access the help files from the menu of the program you want help with.

I really don't want to reinstall it again~
and that program is right in the Windows folder. It's called hh.exe.
When I click on it,nothing happens~
Oh my goodness~

The CHM format denotes a Compiled HTML Help file. You can fix the problem by reassociating the .chm extension with hh.exe.

Follow:

Start Menu > Settings > Folder Options > File Types > Look for & Select Compiled HTML Help file > Click Edit > Edit the "open" action to "Drive:\Windows\hh.exe"

Hope it helps!

Thanks. But it still doesn't work.(C:\Windows\hh.exe is already in the "open" field.
Thanks very much!
This might be a stupid problem caused by Microsoft~
If we can't solve it,just forget it.
Again,thanks very much!
