Oekaki Board (again)

T.T I'm sorry, I feel so bad cause I never help anyone (cause I dunno anything) and am always asking for help.

I'm stumped w/ this oekaki board .cgi script. I uploaded everything correctly and *should* have chmod-ed everything as well. I went through and all of my non-cgi files aren't working.

And I have no clue why. *sighz* Can someone give me any clues to how this would be fixed?

I should have said all non-cgi in my cgi-bin. *sighz* The files in my html folder (my public folder) works fine.

My host is ValuableHost. *blink* Absolute directory? ^^ Whats that?
 
absolute path (type pwd in that directory in a shell for the absolute path)
 
use telnet/SSH and navigate to that directory. then type pwd to get the abs. path.
 
You should also have it in your welcome mail and in your control panel/account manager. And...

:eek: BTW, I was wondering how telnet worked? Since I'm new and dunno anything anyway I thought, "Hey! Lets try telnet while we're at it!" and downloaded a client program or something like that. I got in and logged in fine, but I dunno any of the commands and it hurt to try to figure them out?
 
Well, from the above conversation it sounds like you should use the absolute path in the script. If that's the case and you haven't that's one reason it isn't working.

Afraid I don't know anything about telnet. I have never had an account that allows it. But I know you already have a client hiding in c:\windows called telnet.exe. There's also a telnet.hlp that might be to some help. [size=+1]&larr;[/size]funny!
 
move the none cgi stuff into another directory. sounds like your cgi-bin is not a 'real directory' this should solve your problems
 
telnet and SSH are direct telephone connections to your server. you need to know a bit of *nix (unix, BSD, linux, etc.) to get around. people prefer SSH over regular telnet since it encrypts its messages to the server. puTTY is the most popular freeware SSH program for Win32 boxes I believe.

Nope. The paths should be something like:

html directory
/home/virtual/oekaki/home/httpd/html/

cgi-bin
/home/virtual/oekaki/home/httpd/cgi-bin/

If oekaki is your username. The username doesn't have to be the same as what's used in your URL.

XD I looked at putty and it seems really kewl. I'm messing around w/ it now. GUESS WHAT! XD I got the file nuke.sql into the database! I figured out how!!!! XDDD Thanks!

-_- The oekaki board just doesnt' want to seem to work on valuablehosts servers so I'll just give up for now. ^-^ Oh well.

-_- I looked at phpnuke and I prolly won't use it. ^^;; I guess it just didn't end up to be what i needed. 0.o I still wanna learn php cause I know it will help in webpage making, but I dunno HOW. ^^;; I'm so inexperienced its not even funny.
