need to know something

Hi, I don't really know CGI, but when I download a scipt such as from scriptachive.com or cgi.resourseindex.com there's normally instructions of how to install it. Now, i can understand and problably do everything except for chmod part. What does it mean?

CHMOD is changing file permissions in UNIX servers only. Usually, you can do this command via FTP or SSH. How to do it depends on your FTP software.

When you're logged on to the FTP, try right clicking on the file(s), there should be an option for you to set permissions or CHMOD.
