Need lots of (cheap) bandwidth

I have built some firewall log analyzer software which I am distributing as freeware. Now my latest update for 1 single product generated 40 GB of traffic this month alone. With my current host that's gona cost me an arm and a leg :(

I am looking for a host that will allow software downloads. At the moment I have only 2 products, but there are 2 more coming soon. They only require about 2 MB disk space each. And then the web site itself of course.

There are lots of hosts, that I have found, that offer 'unlimited' bandwidth, but they either don't allow for software downloads or they will choke the transfer speeds to an unacceptable level.

Can anybody advise me a host that offers something like this:
- 20 MB disk space
- 100 GB bandwidth
- fast downloads
- ftp uploads
- no more than $100/month

You might want to consider getting a dedicated cobalt raq server from www.rackshack.net which is $99/month (250 setup) with 300GB of bandwith and 20 GB of space. But that might be too much for you.

My suggestion would be a dedicated server too....I dont know any host that will allow 100gb!!

Holy shiet!

Well, if you do use this deal, make sure to get rid of PLESK right away; it sucks. ;)

I disagree; Plesk is quite good (except for the price)

its certainly better than nothing, which is what you'll have if you drop plesk.

Does rackshack allow you to choose either ensim or plesk? I didnt see anything on their page, and ensim is in my opinion would be easier to use for new clients. Is their any pricing differences?

I think you are mistaken Gayowulf. All the dedicated service plans I've seen are from about $100/month up. But if you know of any dedicated server for $100/year just enlighten me please.

Did you mean $100/year or $100/month?

I do not think you will find many hosts providing 100GB for $100/year though.

He wants 100 GB of data transfer and you're wondering if he meant $100 per year ??? I think it is safe to say $100/mo.

I guess he is talking about $100 per year. Am I missing something?

Sorry guys for the confusion:

This is what I'm looking for:

- 20 MB disk space
- 100 GB bandwidth per month
- fast download speed
- ftp uploads
- php support
- no more than $100 per month (preferably ±$50/month)

I've checked out RackShack's website. I'm concerned about the monthly fees of "Upgrades" (http://www.rackshack.net/services/index.asp).
Why would I have to pay a monthly fee for a memory module or a harddrive? A one time fee I understand, but why extra each month? Does the $99 monthly fee include the RAM and HDD already in the PC? If not, than the $99 doesn't seem to be correct.

Also I'm unable to find the speed of RackShack's connection to the backbone. What download speed can I expect? Does anyone know if there is a file on their website, a few Mb in size, I could download to verify the actual speed?

Same questions for Phenominet. It appears to be a better deal (±$50/month for 100GB). But what about their download speed?

Also, I'm not sure if I really want/need a dedicated server. Who's gonna reboot it if it crashes? When will this be discovered??? If it's up to me to check regularly, than it could be out of service for many hours before this is discovered. If I'm on a shared server, I would expect the time before someone notices to be much shorter, or am I missing something here?

Thanks!

PS. Anyone got any experience with Tier1 hosting? (http://www.tier1host.net). They appear to offer unlimited bandwidth without the restriction of not allowing download files (the only one I've found so far), but again I cannot find any reference to their connection speed.
