Hi there, I am looking for free bannerless web hosting and no ads for my proxy web site. I would need about 50++ GB of bandwidth per month, maybe more, maybe less - not sure. My last host had much less bandwidth, so my site is down right now. Need to get it running again soon. Does anyone know of a generous web host out there that could help me out here?

Thanks in advance

let me guess,
But your going to put ads on it and make money?

Not what free hosting is about!

Try a place like cybertoad.net
or cybertoads.net
One of them anyway

CyberToad.net doesn't allow proxies, nor will most free hosts. Too many resources on a shared platform.

I would normally think about it.. But bannerless? If anything you should be begging for proxy hosting, not demanding 50GB and no banners.

I may be able to help you there. But there is no cPanel access, only FTP. And you must put a small link under your main page. If so then pelase PM.
-Thanks

Correct! Thanks goes to internalx for the recommendation but as
CNLucas said, we don't allow any proxy servers on free accounts.

Sorry for going offtopic, but amz: "Cybertoad Networks" havn't been up for 9 years, and yet you write it has!? You have been using computers/provided hosting for a few years but that site hasn't been up for that long.

Of course, we haven't been up for 9 years ...

We've been open and running for a full 10 years !!!!

Our free hosting service first opened on January 2, 1997 and has been
open and running continuously without interruption since our grand opening
a little more than 10 years ago and we just celebrated our big 10th year
anniversary just last month.

Interestingly enough, we still have a few of our original members too
who have been with us through the entire decade which should be
a big testament to our reliability and on going member loyalty.

You have been using computers/provided hosting for a few years
A few years? ROFL!

I have been using computers professionally for more than 32 years and
I had a direct hand in the development and emergence of many of the
internet technologies you now take for granted including but not limited
to TCP/IP, Telnet, DSL, Cable modems, IRC, Onling Gaming, and more.

I have also personally been using the internet since the 1970's. Meanwhile,
most of you didn't even learn about it's existence until nearly 20 years later
when it finally received mass public attention during the early 1990's.

In the late 1980's, I was also the owner / operator of the world's largest
multi-line BBS, outside of America Online, with a service known as Skynet.

I have worked with IBM, Bell Atlantic (Verizon), ARPA (Darpa), and many others
in my long time as a professional programmer, engineer, and network administrator
and I am now recognized and considered one of the world's top foremost
experts for my field for what I do and I'm not talking about hosting which is
just yet another list item for the many things I do.

A few years? Uhm ... yeah .... just a few .... ;)

but that site hasn't been up for that long.

Blade1941, you are partially correct in that the current content at our site
is new relatively speaking against the actual age of our hosting service.

In March 2005, we had a major database crash that badly corrupted our
forum community database and wiped out about 6 years of posts.

Instead of spending weeks or months attempting to fix the corruption, we
just decided to use the incident as an opportunity to wipe the forums clean
and since our own sites use an isolated server totally separate from our clients,
none of our hosting members were effected by the March 2005 database crash.

Our own site was down for roughly 26 hours when we rebuilt everything.

Hmm I see, but that's not the point being:

"For the past 9 years, Cybertoad Networks has been providing reliable free web hosting without the hassle of advertising that matches and even surpasses many traditional paid hosting providers in terms of features, service, support, reliability, and stability."

If you gonna look, "harsh" at it.. I mean this line:

"For the past 9 years, Cybertoad Networks has been providing reliable free"

Hmm, yeah !? Cybertoad Networks hasn't been up for 9 years! It's been a year or two of what I can tell but not that much.

http://www.clubhost.us was up for at least 9 years you said but this other one is new, how can you use old stats on a new site?

Sorry but it doesn't match up at all, tell me in what way "Cybertoad Networks" and "Clubhost" is the same?

And Amz lol brag about your internet experience, is kewl but I'm sure you've had a great time using the internet however I wasn't talking about that exactly..

Did you get your brain out of a cracker jack box or something?

CLUBHOST.US is CYBERTOAD.NET !!!!

We operate under 76 different brand names for the same company
and each of those brands respectively have hundreds of domains
you can use to get to each of our many sites with dozens of
alternate domain names for each and every site we have.

Per above, CLUBHOST.US is an alternate domain for CYBERTOAD.NET!

... you said but this other one is new, how can you use old stats on a new site?
You really should learn to read because I never said anything was "new"!

We did not start a new service in March 2005; rather, we just simply cleaned
out the posts out of our existing forum community for our already well
established flagship free hosting service and nothing more!

Most of the members who are on our forums currently go back many
years prior to the forum reset mentioned above and were actually forum
members long before the member's earlier posts were deleted.

(Actually we got a bit of backlash from that and a number of members
complained about losing thousands of posts on our forum community
which incidentally is when we first decided to go ahead and drop the
forum posting requirements so that our existing members would be
less upset about all the forum posts being deleted)

For reference:
---------------
Back in 1997, we required members to make 1,000 posts to qualify
to signup for a 5 MB web hosting account which was more space
than anyone had ever heard of on a hosting account.

A number of those original members are still with us except their
hosting accounts have slowly grown from 5 MB to 2,000 MB over
the many years and we abandoned the posting requirements quite a
long time ago and don't have that requirement anymore.

Our original members were originally hosted on a single old Sun Cobalt RaQ
machine with no more than 20 GB drive space and 64 MB total memory
on an 80486 equivalent processor. It is pathetic now but was very
good for it's time back then when we first opened.

Today, we host more than 1.5 million sites from thousands of servers
all over the world operating under 76 brands expanding from free hosting
to also include paid shared hosting, vds accounts, dedicated, and
co-location services with support offices scattered across 4 continents.
