My (very small) site is hosted at WEB1000, and I've never had a bit of trouble with it. It always been "up" when I checked it, the servers deliver the pages and images quickly, FTP always works, questions to "support" have always been responded to, and, since I know most of my site's visitors personally, I'm sure I would have heard about it if any of my visitors had problems with it.

HOWEVER, there have been so many reports in thread

(and others), that I cannot say I am not concerned -- particularly about those reports that WEB1000 has been linking site visitors through the visitor's modem to pay-telephone-porn services without warning.

I think I can say without contradiction that any member of the WEB1000 management team would be welcome to post in this space, describing exactly what WEB1000's operating practices are, particularly in relation to the allegations made by the unhappy people who have reported their bad experiences.

As you are in contact with support Jerry, why not invite a representative to join up and address these issues. If they ever check their referral logs they must have seen FWS countless times. :eek:
 
as i know, web1000 provided porn banner pop-ups on your site. for me, i won sign up this host althought all of the feature work very well. you see, porn banner should get to paid more, and they would get a big amount from the advertisement. so you decide it, if most of the visitors complain about it. try to change host, if not, you have lost a lot of visitor visiting your site soon. so be concern about it, think about it, whether you should change it or else???...

Just a few Porn banners would be still okay with me,
but what is very annoying is the fact, that there starts
automatic downloads of porn sex-dialer programms
in the background and some of them even seem
to dial automatically itsself in the background a 0190
number on the other B-channel, so you are charged high costs and don´t know it.
Lately over here in Germany there were many big frauds
like this with many newbis don´t know, that they had these
dialer programs on their PCs, so this is why there are now
so many 0190 warnings programs out there like YAW3.5.

that's wors things that never ever heard about it...

anyway, the sex dialer is origined from the sex site. whenever you got the banner pop-ups ads. the sex dialer should be directly to your computer.
ONE THINGS, even u uninstall the dialer, u should find out the application too from other folder. that mean, the files is remain on your computer. sigh....

onethings i suggest. NO web1000 again. it's very terrible / nightmare for user who wish to host their site. i ensure that web1000 webmasters is getting MAD on their organization. dont know what trick and some games to play with other users. i'm sure that this host site gurantee out of the free host chart!
 
well so far, i don have any Qeustion with them..my site is hosted with them..and its work fine for me .. :)
 
Okay all these is weird cos 1. I'm in Singapore (non-US) and 2. I've never seen a single popup/popunder from the site...

Maybe you guys want to go http://mp3d.web1000.com and tell me if you can see it, or you get some dialer??

hmm.... something wrong in here.

let's make some assumption,
(1) maybe they are playful with users, didn't take any serious on the job
(2) maybe some of site didn't fully setup for the banner pop-up
(3) maybe they choose user's site ramdomly and place banner pop-up on their site.
(4) ...

so how about their site that previously host at the web1000 and then have been deleted from the host??? why why ??? no any mail from them ....
