i just found this host...

I'm not sure what they offer, but they are fast and have php.
i just found out... no ftp.


just check it out.
they use genises cp with direct sign-up. really easy!!

conclusion ?::: macserve.gotdns.org is being run off someones home computer
 
home computers can get 99% uptime. some dsl conns have static ip's

you can get files from the web.
the cp will download and store the file for you
and it allows 100 uploads at 1 time
 
seems that the home server wasn't secure....

i got a forbidden message yesterday. and it said something with hacked in it.

and now you only get 50Mb to start.
and the admin must approve your sign-up first.

but macserve.org is fully back now. and still fast

Well, with all the hacking and such taking place, Mac Serve has decided to put some extra security features in to effect. For example, when someone creates a web authoring account, I have to approve it first, and yes, we are out of a forum again, because, I don't really know why now. And, we are giving people only 50 MB of space to start off with, and if you want more, you must request it. this is due to illegal MP3's being uploaded. There is still a 350 MB limit, for now.
Freezing rain storm... right now... in Nova Scotia... where the server is located. It is 12:26pm, and the freezing rain is coming hard. So if the site is down, it's not our fault!!!

Controversy between the keeping of Genesis and using easyhost, or the other way around. Easyhost is installed, but it is not yet open to the public. Let me remind you, that you should sign up for our news letter, for there is more detailed information given in the emails, than what is given here.
New Web Authoring tool installed! Easyhost is better than Genesis, I think, but I'll have to let some other people decide on that. Find it in the Services>Login Section.

I am not necessarily talking about the the members here, but the hundreds of guests who view these forums daily and screw over these hosts that try to do some good! You abusers (And you know who you are) are the scum of the internet and the sooner you realise that the internet and the hosts are not just there for you to upload your illegal crap the better the internet will be!!!! :mad: Many of you have succeeded in bringing down some "good" free hosts that try to offer a decent free option. If you want to run illegal sites, pay for an adult hosting that doesn't care what crap you put on their servers, or buy your own goddamned server!</soapbox>

Dude, you wanna research before you post? The reason Allowee was kicked off flatface was because I told the bloody stupid idiot that ran it that he had directory_index enabled and that Allowee found out. Oh and if you don't want to hear that Allowee's not a cracker and that he's a security hacker get off the bloody forum and play with your server toys.
