Litigation related to unauthorized/unlawful access

Do you, as web hosting companies, ordinarily pursue civil litigation against individuals and entities that attempt or succeed in accessing your servers using unlawful means -- hacking and so forth?

This question applies to instances where the access results in modification of files or just simple exploratory rummaging.

I am curious as to your thoughts on this.

It seems that you have had something related issue with web hosting companies in the past. Would you mind telling more about that here?

Only a stupid script kiddie would leave their own details on a hacking attempt, the rest would hide behind multiple methods of encryption.

The hackers you can trace - wont have a penny to their name and in all likelyhood would be too young to even consider claiming damages, and the hackers that are not easily traceable (if its even possible in the case!), it would cost more money tracking them down than you could ever earn back.

So no, I do not think ANY host would even consider it if they got hacked.
