Learnign php

I want to learn php so I can edit a php script so it fits my needs. To explain what I want to do will be hard to do since the script is already complex as it is. So wheres the best place to start. I know the echo command so I can skip the Hello World script.

I am prepared to spend some time on this so a big 100 page text will be usefull. Unless some wants the chanlange of doing it for free. If so pm me so I can tell you in detail what you will be getting your self into.
