was wondering what people liked best for when playing games...

i'm refering to when playing a variety of games tho, so then which controller would be 'your' overal favorite. as in, by the average game?
then again, if ya only play 1 game type, then thats cool coz thats your scene :)

Most games i play require the keyboard and mouse.

The keyboard for movement, and the mouse for aiming, and shooting.

Personally i dont like any gamepads, joysticks, except when i am playing need for speed, that is when a steering wheel comes in real handy :).

For most games, a gamepad. For all the rest, keyboard + mouse. Caesar III would SUCK on a gamepad, for instance. I think it would be impossible.

ive 5 questions here that just poped into my head -

1. what games out there allow usage of a light-gun?

2. as i 'might' buy the ms forcefeedback joystick in the future, is it worth the extra money?

3. do the new wireless mice work with games?

4. ive heard theres now a helmet that with it you can control a game, so how does that work?

5. i dont own a gamepad yet, but what one do users here recommend?

4 games like Civilization, Pharaoh, etc (which are the ones I play most), I use the key board & mouse of course. But with Flight sims & Mechwarrior3 I use the 'Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro' Joystick!!

as I said above, I use the Microsoft 'Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro' joystick (it's a couple of years old now) I personally think it's well worth the money!! There's nothing quite like feeling the hits from the enemies guns on the side of your fighter for realism!!:D

I use a wireless mouse and it works. If your computer can use the mouse so can your games, because the games don't access the hardware directly, they do it through the operating system. You could use a serial mouse and it'd still work :classic2:

1. From what I can rmeber, there was duckhunt and a few gamees for Sega genesis. I cant really think of any for the PC.

2. Yes

3. Well, I have used wireless mice before, and they had a responce time that I could feel. Then I got my Logitech mx700 and all that lag went away.

I have seen some guys at my local LAN party bring in a wireless gun, a helmet (that vibrates) with a screen on the front and a wired vest (that vibrates). It is all wireless, except the helmet, and they play off of normal computers, playing counterstrike, tom clancy and operation flashpoint. I know that they ordered them from a UK gaming company and it was over $550 altogether. PM me saturday if you want more information.
