I need your thoughts/suggestions on this

I'm going to start up a ski/snowboard club at my college, and I'm making the posters for it now. When it comes to judging my own work my opinion is very biased: that's why I want some outside feedback.

1. When printed, do you think the main heading would be too hard to read?

2. On an 8.5/11 sheet of paper, would this poster catch your eye?

3. Does it blend simplicity with sheer genius?

I'll pump out a few more with different headings just for variety.

Picture it on either a neon yello page, a neon green page, a white page and a tie-dye print page.

Well, I can't see your preview of poster, instead, there are a great load of porn popups...
 
Well it has a cool look,

however, the title is a bit difficult to figure out because of the writing style.

Also, it should be bigger and contrasted with the background...


Beside that, nice work !!! :cool:
 
In my opinion, the graphic and the title needs more in the way of 'attention getting' as I don't think either cut it. I used to do graphic design so I'm more picky than the many, however flip through a magazine with lots of ads and see which ones make you STOP -and see what the heck the ad is. That's what it is supposed to do.

Stay away from text that is impossible to read. You want it effective, not just neat looking. As I said, I'd replace the image, switch the name under the image (or elsewhere), and throw an attention getting header on it.

The 5th poster's text looks like it is for a death-metal band, or maybe a Halloween poster. I'm not sure why you picked that for a ski club poster, but at least with those (4 and 5 above) I can read what it says. The other ones I couldn't even tell what it said.

i could read all of them - at first i thought it said 'gng board and ski club' - but its 'cnc' - the 4th is the easiest 2 read IMO

I agree. After putting them up I realized that i would walk right past the poster and not even notice it, much less read it from a distance. Now I've got a big bold black title that is legible from 100 feet. Obviously its working because i've received several emails asking for more info
