HSP56 MicroModem

Could anyone give me the link to the download which updates your HSP56 MicroModem driver? My connection is only at 28.8k.:angry2:
 
Hey,

I'm not quite sure about the update part.

But there are a few reasons why you might be only at 28.8.

1- Your isp dosnt support greater
2- Current network conditions, peak hours?
3- you have bad settings in your PC.

I can't help for 1-2 but I'll give you a few things to check for #3.


1- in your dial-up properties, server type, and uncheck all ticks except tcp/ip
2- modem properties, Maximum Speed, select the highest
3- modem properties, connection, port settings, put receive buffer to the max.
4- modem properties, connection, advanced, disable error control


This should improve your connection speed a little.

Keep in mind that the general 56k modem user will connect at 36.6 or lower, even with an updated modem.
 
You can't really check the speed of your dial-up modem by hovering over the icon. That's only the intial connection speed.

if you have that F******g modem you need to have Windows XP or 98

in Xp - the drivers will automatically loaded

in 98 you have a cd of drivers

you may tweak your modem ....

If you have a nice telephone company, sure it can ;) Contact them to test your line.
 
yea call them up
and say yea
i have alot of line noise
and i get static when calling ppl.
this doesnt happen all the time but sometimes.
hahaha
 
Actually, I don't get any noise when called people... sometimes.. I remember one time, I turned on the phone and heard this conversation between two other people. :devious2: Tapping in on other people's phone conversations is cool. Now if I knew how to do it.. Anyways, the phone SOMETIMES gets noise. And I downloaded the wrong update.:angry2: Oh well, I'll just download the bottom one.
