how to run my own server... please help.

someone mentions i could run a server from my own pc. i am on windows xp, 256MB Ram, 40GB HD, 512kbps cable modem.

would that be sufficient to run my own server? and would it work with xp?

i went to http://apache.org/ and had a look on there but i am not sure what i need to get from there to enable me to do this.

for my yabb forum i use YaBB.cgi

any help would be appreciated..

Not all cable modem ISPs approve of their clients trying to run web servers on their bandwidth.

But if yours allows it, there are tutorials on http://www.thesitewizard.com/
