Host.sk finally fails to keep "unlimited webspace"

Vazeny uzivatel,

Dnom 26.8.2002 na projekte Host.sk nastane obmedzenie diskoveho
priestoru na 50MB pre jedneho uzivatela.

Vzhladom na enormny narast uzivatelov projektu a na caste
zneuzivanie neobmedzeneho diskoveho priestoru zo strany
niektorych uzivatelov, nie je mozne nadalej poskytovat
neobmedzeny diskovy priestor kazdemu.

- limit 50MB bude mozne prekrocit pod dobu max. 6 dni o dalsich 5MB,
- pre zaujimave projekty je mozne individualne poziadat o zvysenie
limitu diskoveho priestoru,
- uzivatelom, vyuzivajucim sluzbu webmail bude do limitu 50MB zaratavany
aj priestor, ktory zaberaju e-mailove spravy.

Dakujeme za pochopenie.

Dear user,

From the day of 26. August 2002 the reduction of disk space to 50MB
for each user will take place on Host.sk project.

It is not possible to provide unlimited disk space to each user
anymore by reason of enormous increase of project users and often
imposition of unlimited disk space from some users.

- it will be possible to cross limit of 50MB by 5MB in time limit
of maximum 6 days,
- it is possible to request individually for disk limit increase for
interesting projects,
- the space for e-mails will be included into 50MB space for users
of webmail service.

Thank you for understanding.

Need I say more?

Yes, but they were renouned for their unlimited aspect, no?

Now they are "just another host", even if it is quite nice.. or might be with faster speeds.

Hah! I knew they would start falling soon enough! :)

Especially since e-mail is part of the 50 MB space. If you have 20 users using 2 MB space each, you only have 10 MB space for your website.

You seem to take pride in the fact that they have had to lower their hosting specs.
But personally I am glad that they no longer offer unlimited space, so perhaps now their speed will start to increase.

I said that they would be forced to lower their features or shut down, but nobody believed me. Everybody just said, "Oh, they've already been around for a long time with unlimited hosting."

Yeah it's a good thing that they stop offering unlimited hosting. But I wonder, couldn't they except from the start that it would go this way?
