and since im new at domains and what not... does this
mean i have to have unix? sorry for such a dumb question but i have no clue :confused2

I think the UNIX starter solution means the server your site will be hosted on runs UNIX. This usually means, there will be no Microsoft Access Databases, no JSP, no ASP, and other Windows 2000 features.

It has nothing to do with what operating system that YOU run.

many hosts now offer apache::asp which allows asp, just not ms access.

Apache::asp is *not* regular ASP. It won't run any ASP script without extensive modification.

ASP is most generally offered with systel running under windowns. As for your Unix question, it has nothing to do with you so don't worry about that. It's just the system your account will be running under.
