It really bites trying to find a good free webhost. ive searched, found some things, tried them out and some just really did not seem appealing or one min. my site would be there.. the next its gone.. doesn't exist..
today i applied for a place to be hosted.. since i can NO longer for almost a year can not update my fansite i have... and someone hacked into my guestbook so I cant change anything. the person wouldnt host me because someone called me one bad name in my g-book.. how lame is that.. I was going to get rid of the gbook once everything was settled and I got hosted.. but apparently, when I submited my stuff they didnt carfully read what I wrote them. like tey say to do on thier site, oh we wont submit this.. or that or foul language ect. i d uno
but im at the point to frustration and I really want to work harder on my site, but its IMPOSSIBLE when i cant find a decent host that is possibly banner free, good amount of bandwidth. and least maybe around 20 or more megs of space.. if anyone can let me know please do. ive searched the free host sites here.. but id like to know if anyone has one they think its absolutly the best.
it help me a great deal.

alrighty, i looked into them before, but i dunno, i am not fond of ~ in address.
Its free, so don't be so picky. Simply sign up for one of the many free URL redirects. :angry2:

How much bandwidth do you need?
Do you need cgi and perl?
I am willing to give you a free space on our servers plus a free subdomain (anything.add-link.net).
PM me if you are still interested.

Stay away from HostUltra, your visitors will hate you after visiting your site, only to not want to return.
Pop-up hell and illegal script code changing your / members browser start page.

when people see webpages hosted on hostultra they should take a left and run away as fast as they can.LOL.

Yes, several times......

But DeepList is better than some hosts... I tried FreeWebs.com, ummm, Spaceports, and some other hosts but they didn't give me what I wanted.

The people who maintain DeepList's server, IMO, are trying to take him out of business with all this router problems and they just put in a new HDD yesterday and they corrupted my MySQL database.. :cry2:

The point is since DeepList is my host... I will promote it, to a point.. I suppose I have gone crazy promoting my own host. lol

Maybe not a good idea to promote it...look what happened to nano-reef :cry2:

Yeah, well, the nano reef.com thing is sad... but they had an automatic sign-up service... DeepList requires future hosted users to e-mail the admin their applications and he may grant them hosting. :D

I just wanted to thank everyone. HostUltra is terrible I did do a small run. There was 6 pop ups, if I closed one, 6 more would show up. NOT only that half of my stuff would not show, even if I did fully "link" it via html. instead of using whatever.html i had use, url/username/whtever.html and it still didn't work. I had everything uploaded and so forth. It was crazy.

And to the person who called me picky, thanks I guess I am. Actually, I really am not. I have a personal reasoning why I perfer to stay away from ~ or - or, _ sort of things. But thanks anyways, but I really think those pop ups and when I upload stuff half of it isn't there.. its just not the place for me. i want my site to be seen not unseen..

for addlink: ill try to PM you, but I am not sure how much stuff you are willing. For now I need a decent amount of space. Im getting some visitors up the wazoo and new photos to put on this site I have.. so far in 2 weeks I had over 2000 visitors. I dont know, but id like to have bandwidth that will alow me to update frequently, and aloow visitors to see my site with out getting suspended sort of things. But, Ill think about it and get back to you... but, if you have an amount your allowed to give let me know. but I am not to sure... and ill look into deeplist see whats happening there. but if they messed something up I may wait heh, dont need to go and sign up ect... get half my lsite up and its next time gone.. which has happend to me in the past.

Well, bbl!

thanks to all who responded, :)

gone in the speed of light

Well, it's not easy getting a large site hosted for free, but you can if you know where to look. I've been on so many free hosts it's not funny, and just to be on the safe side, I currently have my site on three different free hosts at once. Anyway, if your site doesn't need server side scripting, you don't mind uploading via browser, and you don't mind popups, you could try these hosts:

http://www.dooot.com/ - my site's main host
http://www.gizba.com/ - be careful with them, they've had problems with accidentally removing everyone's accounts in the past, but they don't seem to give up - 500 megs webspace on a super fast server

If you need server side scripting and FTP (but still don't mind popups), then you could try http://www.t35.com/ - they've had their share of problems in the past, but they're currently in the process of upgrading to Exodus bandwidth, which is premium bandwidth even for pay hosting, and that will supposedly solve all their past problems, and T35 is pretty much the ONLY free webspace host that has offered unmetered space and data transfer, FTP, AND PHP/SSI access and has actually lasted for 3+ years; everyone else has either gone out of business, become super slow, or folded by limiting webspace and data transfer.

Oh yeah, although I strongly don't recommend this host, you could try http://www.freehostempire.com/ - they offer everything T35 offers, except they don't offer server side scripting and they don't place ads of any kind on your pages. However, use them at your own risk - I used them as my main host until I got complaints about random porn 404 ads showing whenever someone clicked on one of my site's internal links (even though the pages/files do exist, most of the time, the page will load as it's supposed to, but sometimes, FHE's server "chokes" and "fabricates" a 404, loading a full page porn ad and several porn popups/popunders), and that made me say "no" to Freehostempire - I'd rather have popup ads on my site than random porn sites disguised as error 404's!

BTW, to those of you that have seen me post, "I'm not revealing my site's main host here," Free Host Empire was it, but since they're sleazebags, I no longer care if the warez tear them apart - they deserve it for stabbing me and my site's visitors in the back like that!
