i'm looking for a place to upload my (original, non copyrighted) MP3 files for my band that can be publicly accessed by anyone - i've tried yahoo briefcase, and a number of other free services but they all have file-size or extenstion limitations??

any help would be most appreciated. thanks :)

just to clarify - before i posted i searched the archives and came up w/a number of places that claim to allow 3-5MB uploads, but they all ban files w/an mp3 extension...a service that allows 3Mb+ uploads and mp3 file extension seems to be hard to find...

I beliebe HostUltra has a 1mb size limit. My guess is you have no choice but paying for being hosted because a free host with no file size limit is very very hard to find. We do provide free support with no size limit but for small website (5MB space). If you're willing to pay a couple of bucks a month then you might find a host out there. Good luck.

Try something like soundclick.com or if your band fits into a particular genre you may find a host for that specific genre, I know there are metal hosts and indie hosts out there.

Yeah, but on Geocities, if you have a 5 mb file, only one person can download it per hour and then your site's dead until the next hour.

250free.com has a 250 mb monthly data transfer limit - not good if you want to store large files as your site will be dead fast.

Gizba.com has a 2.5 mb file size limit, so they won't work for criscoh either.

I'd suggest that criscoh keep his site's pages where they are and use http://server3.come2store.com/ to store his MP3's.

many people said www.web1000.com is a terrible host with all the hidden ads. If you don't mind about ads, try out 250free.com or gizba.com - someone mentioned it before :)

There aren't really any hidden ads at Web1000 - they just have 404 porn pages. :p

The problem is that they randomly delete accounts, so a lot of traffic is actually being redirected to their porn pages. This practice is unacceptable - even for a free host.
