Anyone know where I can get a free telnet account or something?

I used www.freeshell.org a couple of years ago. And they are still alive

Depends what you need the shell for. For

20mb home, 20mb web, 20mb mail
elm, pine, mutt, mailx, rmail, pop3
bash, ash, ksh, tcsh, rc, zsh, tclsh
http://yourlogin.freeshell.org
cgi execution and php4 support
icq, talk, commode chat, bboard
hundreds of UNIX utilities


it is free.

Ok, new stuff they have added.
I understand why they do it. They offer something great, and it's probably increadibly hard to keep spammers and abusers away.
