Depends on where you live, but .co.uk is £1.95 a year here if you know where to buy them. That's less than $4.

Its cheap to buy...but some people dont have the required mode of payment or are not eligible for payments...like kids of 17 yrs. No doubt they have talent...but dont have the CC for paying the domain fees.
