Firefox using too much RAM

Hey,

I use Firefox as my main browser, but it uses a lot of resources without doing nothing. Is there any other web browser that's more resource wise than Firefox?

It used to be a paid browser for ad-free, free version with ads, but now they've released an ad-free free version which is REALLY nice :)
 
Ok, confirmed, Opera uses half the RAM Firefox uses!

i get the same occasinly, but it does slow if you have flash stuff etc. or plugins can affect it as well
 
I had VideoDownloader installed as a plugin and it used an average of 40 MB RAM. I'll be purshasing another RAM card this week, so all my problems we'll be solved. Of course opera will stay in my system
 
It's funny how 32MB of memory used to be more than enough to run a computer, and now 1.5GB of RAM is just sufficient. I remember in the early 90's, if you had 32MB of RAM, you were very "leet"
 
I have a PC in the cupboard under the stairs running on 32MB RAM, 500MB Hard Drive (or something), 200MHz processor. Screen built into the system.

It's crap. Thinking of installing xubuntu but really there's no point.
