Selling off my laptop to get this:

- Sempron 3000+ (~Athlon XP 2800+ Barton)
- 512MB PC3200 Corsair RAM
- 17" Samsung Flat-screen CRT
- ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
- Abit KV7 mobo
- Casing with 300W PSU
- BenQ DVD Rewriter (16x DVD+-RW, 4x DVD-DL, 40x24x40)
- Windows XP Home (OEM)

Price: S$1150 (~$705USD)

I thought the Sempron 3000 was 1.8Ghz, whereas teh Athlon XP 2800+ was 2.08Ghz

I think it's a little expense for what you are paying.

Maybe their wholesale prices are higher than ours here in the states. They need a newegg.com.sg :p

We need a god damn newegg.ca before any damn newegg.com.sg...

That's too expensive...

You might as well get a Barton 2500, don't stoop that low and get a Sempron :p

Reconfigured:

80GB Seagate HDD - $99
Abit KV7 Pro (together with processor)
AMD Athlon 64 2800+ (together with mobo) - $395 IIRC
17" Samsung LCD - $419
Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB - $170
Casing with 300W PSU - $95
BenQ DVD Rewriter - $119
512MB DDR400 Corsair RAM - $132
FireWire PCI Card - $39

Total: S$1481 (somewhere around there, slash 1.63 for USD)

My sister's going to pay for the LCD :).

Overall I'm quite happy and its the cheapest I can get over here... I wish I lived in America though.

For my OS, I have an upgrade CD lying somewhere, and I'll get Microsoft to change the licensee. THis is possible right? Then I'll downgrade the computer using the existing license down to Windows ME. Argh.

Yup, it doesn't come with FireWire. Anyway I purchased it today. Enjoying the 17" LCD monitor... In the end I went with a Athlon 64 3000+ instead as it was only S$32 more than the 2800+.

That's what tigerdirect is for.

I order from TigerDirect all the time, but they don't have as large inventory as NewEgg...as a matter of fact, not many retailers do...

Btw, the Abit KV7 doesn't support Athlon64 processors.
