Hello,

I was just informed today of this web board. I am glad to see there is a community for this particular type of hosting.

Answering some of the questions asked on previous post:

1) FTP: We don't have ftp, but am working on it. Currently there are two solutions right now, either wait for the EasyHost crew to develop it, or finish up the script that I have been working on. It is 85% complete.

2)Advertising: Sorry about the ads but we have to run them, it is the only way that I can keep this site up and service up.

3)Hotlinking: You shouldn't be able to hotlink on it.

4)PHP/MySQL: Those who have found out how to run php files on the service (keep on using.. ) but be warned that we might turn off the service in the future, OR we might enable PHP & MySQL.

5)PORN Adult Content: We will start another service for free adult site hosting for those who like using this kind service for their galleries etc.

6)Current Users and Stats. We are at 200 signups on the first two days and currently at the time of this message there are only two people browsing all dooot.com websites. The more people that come to the site the more features we will enable(more motivation to finish up the script that i have started on). So please get all your free hosting friends on our service. We will try not to make the popups too annoying.

7)Linking: Any webmaster that would like to trade links of sorts please contact us. We will be more than happy to work something out.

Sorry about the fib, thanks for correcting me, 184.

Will there be php support for the adult hosting?

In the begining, No. But if you request it, and we know you are not out to harm the other users of the service or jepordize our work, we will gladly help you place some php files on the server.

The upload file size should be either at 1.5mb or 3mb, not 100% sure.

You shouldn't do that because then everyone will sign up and use it for file storage. If you ask me, 500 KB to a meg file size is excellent. :)

Thats crap 3 megs worth of file storage WOW why would anyone bother just use two poxy floppy disks 3 megs sounds about right to me enough to play around with!!!!

Bloddy hate 500k file size limit i have photos in real high quilty that i like to share that are bigger then that.

Well done dooot.com other hosts should take note!!!

3 meg file size limit, not file storage.
most hosts have a size limit of 200 KB or so.

3 megs is perfect for file storage .. or if u r warez webmaster just chop it up ..
 
Hmmm,

I have put some deep thought into this. Ok not really, but the currrent size is 1.5mb. I have uploaded pics before and really don't think a quality pic should be above 1mb. For now I will leave it at 1.5mb or 1536K (1024x1.5). If the storage abuse is excessive or you see lag in the service, let me know and i will lower it to 500k.

I have no problem with ads, but is there any way you can prevent ads being placed in .txt files?
Because if you view the text file in your browser it becomes completely butchered, and loses its previous format.

its actually a good start - ur just too picky and never happy - instead of putting strain on their line with ur big pics - do it on ur own computer or get paid hosting

I think 1.5mb is enough for most ( if not all ) sites.
If you have files larger than 1.5mb you might want to look at paid hosting.

but on your page you said

could you please clarify (?)
 
I think the .php and .asp file extensions are banned, but if you change your .php files extension to something else they may work.

I think that is what they mean.

Has anyone gotten php to work on dooot.com?

I would call this simply being sensible. If a host had a 3 MB file size limit, I would say that it's off to a bad start. It would get abused by warez webmasters within minutes.
